Inspired by her three decades of work within the skin care industry where the vast majority of the ownership and work-force is female; in January 2011, Jane Wurwand founded the Financial Independence Through Entrepreneurship (FITE), a global women’s entrepreneurial initiative. FITE focused on the provision of global microloans to women entrepreneurs who otherwise would not have access to capital or credit. FITE has connected with women entrepreneurs in more than 50 countries worldwide and microloans have been provided to over 36 000 female entrepreneurs.
In 2013 Dermalogica South Africa partnered with an organisation called These Numbers Have Faces to identify deserving young women from disadvantaged communities that need assistance with university fees, as our focus is to educate and empower young women of our country.
Since the establishment of FITE in South Africa, 11 young women’s university fees have been paid for with the aid of FITE.
This year, FITE has committed to help 7 young women with their university fees. In order to raise funds for the foundation, Dermalogica will donate R10 to FITE with every purchase of precleanse and daily microfoliant.
Purchase your precleanse and daily microfoliant, and help FITE empower as well as advance the young women of South Africa. #WhyweFITE
