Cape Town, South Africa - Nick Bush, serial entrepreneur and adventurer, is about to embark on a new challenge, and this time he’s bringing his four-legged friend Bud along for the ride. Nick and Bud are set to break a new world record by becoming the first human and canine pair to complete the iconic Robben Island swim. The Robben Island swim is a well-known and notoriously challenging 7.5km open water swim from Robben Island to the mainland, and is often referred to as the “freedom swim”. Nick and Bud have been training hard for months, braving the icy cold waters of the Atlantic Ocean off Cape Town four times a week in preparation for this momentous feat. Bud, a loyal and intrepid swimmer, will become the first dog to complete the swim, making history in the process. Nick and Bud’s attempt at this world record is not only a physical challenge, but also a testament to the incredible bond between humans and their furry companions. “Bud and I have been training for months for this incredible challenge, and we’re both ready to take on the swim together. We know it’s not going to be easy, but we’re excited to make history and show what humans and dogs can achieve together,” said Nick. The swim is set to take place on a date between 13 March - 20 March, and Nick and Bud have been getting plenty of media attention in the lead-up to the event. The world will be watching as this dynamic duo takes on the challenge of a lifetime and sets a new world record.
