Cape Town Tourism Businesses Set for TourismX Best Rated Awards Cape Town’s tourism businesses are set to receive a new form of recognition on 27 November 2026 when the inaugural TourismX Best Rated Awards - Cape Town Edition honours businesses that have built strong digital reputations among visitors and customers. The awards are independently researched and use verified online ratings, reviews and engagement data to identify tourism businesses that stand out within their respective categories. The programme will recognise the top-performing businesses across categories including Guest Houses and B&Bs, Hotels, Spas, Restaurants, Eco-Friendly Establishments, Tour Operators, Tourism Organisations, Attractions, Camping Places, Tourism Heritage Sites and Museums. There is no entry process. Businesses do not have to nominate themselves or submit applications. The initial shortlist will be determined using Google Reviews, with the leading businesses in each category then assessed against their verified online engagement performance. The TourismX Best Rated Awards are intended to highlight the growing role that customer feedback and digital visibility play in the tourism sector. Travellers increasingly use online reviews, ratings and social media interactions when researching destinations, accommodation, restaurants and experiences. Gerrit Davids, Founder of TourismX Best Rated Guide, says the awards provide an opportunity to recognise businesses whose visitor experiences are reflected in the digital feedback and engagement generated by their customers. The Cape Town Edition forms part of the broader TourismX Best Rated Awards, which seeks to provide independent recognition of tourism businesses based on their existing digital footprint rather than traditional award entries. Speaking recently at the launch of Tourism Month 2026, Minister of Tourism Patricia de Lille highlighted the growing influence of digital platforms in shaping travel …
Cape Town’s Restaurant Rankings Released
The Pot Luck Club Rated as the Top Restaurant in the CustomerX Index™ Cape Town - The Pot Luck Club has been named the leading restaurant in the inaugural CustomerX Index™ Cape Town Restaurant Edition, a reputation benchmarking index that measures customer satisfaction, sentiment and brand visibility in online media. Using Google review data alongside an in-house media monitoring tool, the index assesses both customer satisfaction and the volume of online editorial coverage. Together, these insights reflect customer trust and brand visibility, enabling meaningful comparisons between leading hospitality brands. The findings demonstrate that while Cape Town's leading restaurants consistently achieve excellent Google customer ratings, visibility in the online media remains a significant differentiator between top-performing brands.
