Aspiring emcees from around the country will have the opportunity to audition for this prestigious position, as ACT visits various South African cities and towns to host the Scholarships auditions. In 2015, this task was bestowed upon Raymond Motadi, who has since gone on to host a variety of radio and TV shows. Motadi says a friend talked him into auditioning for the emcee position, something he says he will forever be grateful. “The experience was an incredible one, it allowed me to grow as an entertainer and performer,” Motadi says. “I also had an opportunity to work with people who have done amazing things within the arts, thus allowing me to take note of their work ethic, which I found passionate and riveting.” “Emceeing the Scholarships final definitely enhanced my career in a sense that people still remember my face and they tune into my radio show on Tshwane FM. How to choose the perfect Multifunctional Printer to suit your needs
By Liezel Visser These day, the more features a device has, the better. We make choices daily between a multitude of technological devices based on their features and how it suits our needs. One such device that has become increasingly popular is the Multifunctional Printer. MFPs generally have three primary functions which include printing, scanning and faxing and can be used as an office or home printer, depending on your needs. When choosing a multifunctional printer, there are many things to consider before making your purchase, which might become overwhelming. We have made a list of the top things to contemplate before making a decision: Functionality As mentioned, an all-in-one printer functions not only as a printer, but can include scanning, copying and faxing capabilities. So the first think you should consider is what exactly you would need from your home or office printer. If selecting a device that only features the functions you require, you could reduce the costs of the device and in most cases have the few functions you selected be of a higher quality. Print resolution This is a very important feature if you’re looking for a high quality printer, and when we refer to the print resolution we typically refer to the dots per inch (DPI) – the higher DPI, the better. Laser printer often print at a minimum of 1,200 x 1,200 DPI where inkjet printers usually print 600 x 600 DPI black resolution. If you’re unsure of the DPI you need, 1,200 x 600 DPI is usually suitable for office printing, alternatively ask your printer manufacturer if they are able to print samples for you to make sure you make the right decision. Double-sided Printing Double-sided printing, otherwise known as Duplex printing could be an important feature in some companies or even for your personal printer. If you require this feature then make sure to check if your MFP has this capability, else you might be spending your money on a device that does not meet …

Joburg offers four times as many jobs as Pretoria, Cape Town second.
Job availability in South Africa is on the rise at the start of 2016, according to the latest research from job search site Adzuna. Jobseekers should head to cities like Johannesburg, Cape Town Metro and Tshwane where there are more vacancies open to prospective candidates. Chatsworth is officially the hardest place in South Africa to find work, with the fewest available vacancies, with Zululand currently offering the lowest average advertised salaries. The top 50 cities in South Africa were ranked by comparing the job vacancies in Adzuna’s comprehensive search index of over 110,000 live jobs and advertised salaries in each city in April 2016. Adzuna also analysed the distribution of job titles and categories to determine which jobs are in hottest demand in each city or province. Best cities to find a job - Johannesburg, Cape Town (Metro) and Tshwane top the list of easiest places to find a job in the country. No surprises, although many mining areas in the northern parts of South Africa are especially interesting as the salaries proportionate to the amount of jobs available are much higher than general. The North-West Province, for example, won the rank of first for the highest salary average, pushed up by mining salaries on a lower base than the more populated areas. Worst cities to find a job – Chatsworth and Kuruman (Ga-Segonyana district) are the hardest areas in SA to find a job with just 11 vacancies currently being advertised, closely followed by Lichtenberg, Faerie Glen, Meyerton and Blouberg (Limpopo) to round out the worst 6 areas. Unsurprisingly, availability for jobs in the capital Tshawne is booming with 6,191 roles available. Employers are loosening the purse strings - Average salaries in a number of cities are rising, which may reflect a deeper need to attract rarer skills, as well as line up with the current inflation figures. South Africans saw a 6% rise in salaries offered for the same positions over the first quarter of …
